Import Fitbit history to Apple Health

Fitbit does not sync directly with Apple Health. To get Fitbit data into Apple Health on iPhone, most people use a bridge app like SyncFit that transfers supported data (steps, sleep, heart rate, workouts, calories, and more) into Apple Health.

Why Fitbit doesn’t sync directly

Fitbit and Apple Health live in separate ecosystems. Apple Health stores data in HealthKit, while Fitbit data lives in Fitbit’s platform. Because of platform boundaries, Fitbit doesn’t write data into Apple Health natively.

How to sync Fitbit to Apple Health (recommended)

  1. Install SyncFit on iPhone
  2. Connect your Fitbit account
  3. Allow Apple Health permissions for the categories you want
  4. Start sync and verify data appears in Apple Health

Historical import: what it means

“Historical import” means bringing past Fitbit records (weeks, months, or years) into Apple Health so your Apple Health charts and trends include your older data.

What data can be synced

Important limitation

Apple Fitness rings generally won’t close from Fitbit data synced into Apple Health. Rings are driven primarily by Apple Watch and Apple Fitness rules.
